Have you noticed some people have an incredible ability to go with the flow, without ever really being flustered by life’s up’s and down’s? Have you noticed, on the other hand, how some people get bent out of shape over every little difficulty encountered? Indeed, some people see an opportunity in every problem, while others see a problem in every opportunity. I think it was Zig Ziglar who said that a sour disposition is the greatest malady on the face of the earth.
In which category do you see yourself? Paul’s words to the Christians at Philippi make it clear that God is concerned that we have a proper attitude. Although the context relates specifically to a servant heart, he stated, “Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 2:5) Additionally, the Bible teaches that the living, active word of God, among other things, judges the “thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12)
May we all strive to have the attitude of Christ in the way that we relate and respond to the people and events in our lives.
This is the life God blesses!
