This good day

Wow! What a way to start the day!

This Kona coffee from Sprouts is superb.

The morning sounds are simply amazing. Part of me wishes I could identify the different birds by their songs. Still, they are amazing.

Were it not for the gentle breeze we have this morning, the 77 degrees with 78% relative humidity would seem quite warm. It is pleasant and peaceful though. The overcast skies add to the pleasantness of the morning. Add to this anticipation of a full day of family activities and my heart is full.

I am reminded of the verse from the psalm that says:

The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders; where morning dawns, where evening fades, you call forth songs of joy. (Psalm 65:8, NIV)

I am also reminded of Fernando Ortega’s song “This good day.” ( The chorus is:

If the rain clouds come
Or the cold winds blow,
You’re the one who goes before me
And in my heart I know
This good day
It is a gift from You.
The world is turning in it’s place
Because You made it to.
I lift my voice
To sing a song of praise
On this good day.

A beautiful song for a beautiful new day and host of reminders us, “every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows, James 1:17, NIV.

God has done His part, now let’s go out and make it a good day!
